MyLawn.Care Spring Update 2024

Spring 2024 Update and Reminder!

Howdy Folks!

This is our early year update, as well as being a reminder to order your seasonal lawn care solutions for 2024.

It has been quite a mild winter so far this year, which has caused a fair amount of moss to grow by the looks of things, so a power raking or a good heavy raking may be necessary to clear things out a bit – if you do not normally do that. If you are doing your own raking then it helps if things are a bit moist to loosen up the moss, but do not rake it when it is overly saturated or you can wind up tearing out the grass as well!

There have been quite a few people reaching out for various things this year much earlier than usual due to the milder temperatures. There has been a bit of a delay on updating pricing for this year from various suppliers as well as doing our own accounting to see where things needed to be in order to operate properly. That is now completed and if you have been waiting for anything in particular, you will have your responses over the next few days. If you are one of these people, we thank you greatly for your patience.

Updates so far this year:

  • General Updates:
    1. We have added a new soil amender called “Microbe Power Soil Booster” to the store. This is a microbial inoculant that will replenish bacteria in the soil to keep it functioning as it should, boost result of your maintenance plan, as well as help to act as a surfactant when applying seed or in summer heat. Click here for more information! We have a limited supply in stock for the moment as we were testing the factory to be able to make smaller sizes for a retail market, which is now completed, and a larger supply is on its way. There will be before and after videos added to our YouTube channel and website once they are completed later in the year.
    2. Product pricing for 2024 has been updated. Seed, fertilizer and soil cost has been reduced!
    3. Labour pricing for full service work has been increased slightly for general work, and more so anything involving machines or heavy equipment. Repair and fuel costs have increased significantly over the last year and that had to be addressed on our end as well.
    4. The website should be ready to ship across Canada for the end of this month. It has been a long process getting there, but we should be good to go soon. This will make things easier for everybody and remove a lot of manual operations on our end. We will update you when that is in place! Once that has been completed, we will be adding shipping charges in to the various items in the store of course. You will be able to pick up your orders if you choose to, in order to save the shipping. For anybody that orders prior to the website being replaced we will honour the free shipping that we have done since inception for this year, as it was purchased prior to the changes. We will update you with the way any of this may affect you when it is applicable.
    5. We have increased the bluegrass content in our seed blend for this year and going forward. As you know, our climate has been warming up over the lower mainland BC over the last few years, and we want to stay ahead of this and adjust proactively. What does this mean for you? Not much, other than better results. You may notice a slightly darker colour to your lawn, but it will blend in seamlessly with what you have been doing, since the majority of the blend is the same.
    6. We have changed our soil content this year. This was done simply for quality control. We are constantly testing and modifying things whenever necessary and were not happy with the current numbers that we were seeing in our test results. The descriptions on the website will be updated shortly, but the pricing and soil has already been changed. We may offer bagged soil later in the year as well, but for now we are sticking with loose soil by the yard – for the time being.
    7. We are now offering Tree and Hedge trimming up to 20′ on our full service end of things, and only in some areas in the lower mainland. If this is of interest to you just mention it to us!
  • DIY Annual Programs: Click here to see those and/or to order.
    • The Microbe Power Soil Booster will be added in to an annual plan and subscriptions in the next few days, but for now you can add it A La Carte, should you wish. We have a limited stock available and will have more shortly.
    • When the website is updated, there will be changes to the annual plans dependent on where in Canada that you live. There will be an email in that regard to inform you of those changes. The website will be designed in such a way that you order the correct products for your area.
  • Employee Hiring: We are currently hiring for full time employees starting for March 1. There will be adds up on jobsites tomorrow, but I thought I would mention it here in case you knew somebody that was looking for a career in the lawn care industry. If so they can email [email protected] with a resume.
    • There are both office positions (onsite), as well as full and part time landscaper positions available.
    • The full time service work must be able to drive standard because the position will require driving the dump truck (which is a manual transmission). There will be a full job description on Indeed by end of day tomorrow.
  • For Full Service Customers/requests: Email [email protected] with your request. Just let us know if you want to stick with the plan that you had before, would like us to suggest one, or know what additions that you would like to make for this year if applicable.
    • We are now offering Tree and Hedge trimming up to 20′ on our full service end of things, and only in some areas in the lower mainland. If this is of interest to you just mention it in an email!
    • We will be reaching out to everybody that we have not heard from yet this year over the next week to get you set up for this year.
    • For those that have already contacted us, you may already have things set up, or you will soon. We just had to take care of a bunch of things on the back end before we could get to everybody.

We at MyLawn.Care have taken all of this into account and blended lawn Care Packs specifically to perform in the BC lower mainland, so that you do not need to worry about this and can just spread the Care Pack and enjoy the results!
